Pre-pregnancy is a time to optimize your health before pregnancy. My priority is to create an individualized treatment plan based on your needs. We will consider your medical conditions, past mental health history, family history, lifestyle, stress factors and nutrition. This is especially important if there is a history of depression, anxiety, panic and bipolar illness to assess for risk factors. We will evaluate your specific past history and any past or current at risk factors. We will also discuss your current symptoms with a risk vs benefit discussion of medication during pregnancy.
Make you and your baby a priority!
**Currently not in session, please see current support groups on Resources page**
Studies have shown a 50% relapse rate with a previous history of anxiety or depression during the pregnancy or postpartum. Peer support and treatment of women's mental health has been shown to decrease relapse rates. Meet other pregnant, postnatal and prenatal mamas to help decrease isolation and empower you with education and empathy!
(also includes a postpartum plan & referral list for midwives, doulas, childbirth education and lactation specialists)
I will evaluate your specific past history and any past or current at risk factors. I will also discuss your current symptoms with thoughtful discussion about risks vs benefits of medication use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
As part of my practice philosophy, I will contact your general provider, Midwife or OB to collaborate care and create a multidisciplinary team approach.
There is no fee for this service, this is included in your scheduled visits.
You may have a current prescriber but need expert advice on which medications are compatible with lactation. (also includes a 30 minute intake with a lactation specialist)
(this includes a free session for the postpartum period)
The amount of online information about pregnancy nutrition, healthy exercise, supplements and vitamins is overwhelming. Nutritional needs and key nutrients vary based on whether you are in your 1st, 2nd or 3rd trimester. This information is vital to ease pregnancy symptoms and achieve a healthy pregnancy.
*Please note, if you wish to discuss medications please inquire about a psychiatric evaluation.
Fees:
A complete psychiatric evaluation involves a 90-minute session focused on presenting symptoms, past psychiatric history, medical history, and current medications. It will sometimes involve obtaining additional information from prior treatment providers, current providers, or family. Based on this information we will discuss diagnosis, treatment recommendations, and alternatives, if applicable. It's important that you feel informed and empowered to make decisions about your health and I aim to provide as much support and information as I can.
Medications are thoroughly discussed & explained addressing all questions and concerns. Medication may not be indicated for mild symptoms. Medication recommendations are made during the intake or psychiatric evaluation.
Although I am not a board-certified adolescent nurse practitioner, I accept patients 16 and older with the understanding that I co-collaborate with a Psychiatrist in all treatment planning. I work closely with clients and their families to develop a treatment plan that everyone is informed on and in agreement with, while working to maintain adolescents' and young adults' privacy and autonomy.
